About GS RAJAN

GS RAJAN started composing right from his school days. Today he is an outstanding music composer with decades of experience in composing music for films, documentaries, albums, ballets, classical and world music compositions both acoustic and electronic. He is one of the first composers to introduce world music orchestral compositions in India. His compositions received appreciation from none other maestro Zubin Mehta, Sufi singer Abida Parween, Film maker Muzafar Ali, Dr. Raghava R Menon, Subbudu and many others. Many top ranking vocalists including playback singers Vani Jayaram, Mano, Srikumar; Classical singers Unnikrishnan, Anooradha Parasuram, Madhup Mudgal and others have sung Rajan's popular music compositions.

For his thematic orchestral compostion titled 'oasis' he received the Akashwani Award from All India Radio, Government of India in 1996 and in 2005 Rajan was awarded with a special fellowship by the Government of France to compose Raga-Symphony which he composed living in France and presented with French orchestra at Cite de la Musique and other venues in Europe.

RAJAN has done music for some of the major International stage productions and musicals including:

- 'Surya Pranam' - presented at the Stephen Foster Theatre in USA.
- 'Vedas to Voluntarism' - multimedia production - International Temple of understanding.
- 'Radha' - for Janaki Devi College
- 'Reflections' a musical.
- 'Moksha in Madurai' - directed by grandson of Mahatma gandhi, Ram Chandra Gandhi
- 'And Miles to Go' - Dance theatres of Asia produced by Shanta Rati
- 'Infinitely India' - on the occasion of 50 years of India's Independence.
- 'Sound and Light show' - in Chandragiri Fort.
- 'Budha' - Musical in English.
- 'Taalachanda' - Multi-Media production - British Council and presented in India and UK.
- 'Flying Cranes' and 'Offerring' - on the occasion of Uday Shankar Centenary.
- 'Sound of the River Sindhu' - presented in Leh, Kashmir.
- 'Nautilus - Raaga Jazz' produced and directed by GS Rajan and presented in France.
- 'Angikam Bhuvanam' - presented in Old Fort, Delhi.
- 'Journey to The Sacred', Siri Fort, Delhi.
- 'Dance of the Birds' - Godrej Auditorium, Delhi.
- 'Haunting Images' presented at the International Sufi Festival and many others.

RAJAN has composed music for some of the leading classical and modern dancers of India including: Yamini Krishnamurthy-Bharata Natyam, Raja-Radha Reddy-Kuchipudi, Narendra Sharma-Modern, Shanta Rati-Dance Film, Rama Vaidyanathan-Bharata Natyam, Sasidharan Nair-Modern, Vaswati Mishra-Kathak, Sharon Lowen-Odissi, Kavita Dwibedi-Odissi, Kanaka Srinivasan-Bharata Nataym, Vanasri and Jayarama Rao-Kuchipudi, Shagun Butani-Experimental dance, Maithreyi Pahari-Regional traditional dance and others.

RAJAN has also done title music for NDTV Business Awards, Logo and Title music for National Television's DD-Bharati Channel, Title music for Provista India, Music for floats in India's Republic Day parade etc.
