About GS RAJAN

GS RAJAN founded - Malabarians - raaga symphony - first of its kind, with his musician friends and presented his thematic orchestral compositions in 1995 in New Delhi. Since then his group has been performing in many leading cities of the world. The group has received appreciation from both press and people who are highly musical. Rajan calls his compositions - RAAGA SYMPHONY - since all his works are based on Indian ragas though it has an international flavour and his compositions comes under the category of World Music.

For his thematic orchestral compositions, Rajan was hounoured by none other than the great maestro Zubin Mehta in Munich when Rajan presented his work. GS RAJAN also received the prestigious Akashwani Award from All India Radio for his compostion titled 'Oasis'.

In 2005, Rajan was awarded with a special fellowship by the Government of France as a composer. Thus Rajan lived in France for more than an year and compsoed raaga-symphony with French musicians and presented these compositions at the Cite de la Musique and other venues in Europe.

Besides Flute, the group has Guitar, Bass Guitar, Mridangam, Rhythm Machines/Drums, Kanjira, Tabla and vocals.

- Three stage monitors and DI box for Guitar, Bass Guitar and Rhythm Machine
- Two mix monitors.
- Four arlmless chairs covered with black cloth masking.
- One podium: 8 feet Length, 3 feet Width and 2 feet Height with black cloth masking.
- Six three-pin socket with extension chord to be provided behind the orchestra for
connecting - Guitar units/musical instruments.
- 24 channel mixer, Equiliser, Effect processor/ Delay system
- Auditorium speakers as per requirements and capacity.
